Let's Talk Revival 🔥🔥🔥

Revival is a word that's been being used a lot in the Christian community. I've heard things like "we are in the last revival" and "God of revival come and heal our land." And when people speak of revival, at least the people I know, they refer to Joel 2. I decided to do a little digging on what revival is and I found a few definitions I'm going to share with you below: "God's quickening visitation of His people, touching their hearts and deepening His work of grace in their lives." J. I. Packer "Extraordinary season of religious interest." Robert Baird "The sovereign act of God, in which He restores His own backsliding people to repentance, faith and obedience." Stephen Olford "Times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord." (Acts 3:19) J. Edwin Orr "The awakening or quickening of God's people to their true nature and purpose." Robert Coleman "The return of the Church from her backslidin

The Refiner 🔥🔥🔥

It seems to me most of us, INCLUDING ME, respond to the issues we face in very similar ways -- our focus becomes all about changing the circumstances that are troubling us. Even our prayer life can be all about asking God to fix something to make our lives more pleasant. But while we think our efforts to change our circumstances will make our lives better, the truth is we just end up exhausted and no more at peace than when we started. Instead of working so hard to achieve a change in our circumstances, maybe what we need more is a change in our perspective. Currently I am in South Dakota working at Sturgis. Many of you may be asking yourself "why in the world Jennifer, giving your history, are you at Sturgis, of all places, working?" Trust me, I asked myself this very question over and over and over and still yet I have been unable to come up with an answer that I feel is suitable to explain that. It was very simply given to me though, that I am being obedient to my leaders

Choose Humility

The Holy Spirit has been stirring my spirit regarding humility. The last couples of weeks have been a true test in this subject and have brought me to my knees, pouring out my heart with regards to pride and sin. As I began writing this prayer, which was intended to be shared at our churches corporate prayer night tonight, I realized this was the exact blog I’ve been talking about writing, but didn’t have the courage to sit and write. My hope is that we can all have a heart posture of humility to be more like Jesus and less like us. My desire is to draw closer to the Lord everyday that I have here on earth and my hope is the same for you. May this prayer be one that you all choose to join with me in today and may it enlighten you more to who God is and who He calls us to be. God of Angel Armies, we come boldly to Your throne room, which is the seat of all power and dominion. It’s the place where You rule over all principalities and powers and where You reign over the affairs of a

Forms of Godliness

Warning… Beware of forms of godliness. Jesus commanded us “Not to be deceived” (Matthew 24:5) and as a watch-woman and a person who dares to speak the truth, I’m going to share with you what the Lord revealed to me about myself. Let’s begin with this: “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth” (1 Timothy 4:1-3 NKJV). If you read any of my earlier blogs and if you know me intimately, you will know that I was raised in a home of faith. My mom brought me into this world a believer and has not ever swayed from her relentless pursuit of faith in Jesus Christ. She and my father had me dedicated by Pastor Chuck Smith in Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa church as an infant

Jesus is Coming!

I’m on a journey right now, one I can’t wait to share with you in full. As it’s unfolding for me each day, the picture becomes more evident of where the journey is ultimately taking me. Where each of our journey is taking us…what it is we’re all longing for and just waiting to be – with Jesus and in our home, heaven. I haven’t been at this faith walk for that long, but I’ve been committed long enough to know that Jesus is coming back for us. Today I have been doing what I do every day, nothing really new or different, except for what it is I pray these days. I have been asking my Daddy to show me exactly what it is He wants me to see so that I can continue to do His bidding. I want and need clear vision, so I tell Him that. In my studies of Scripture today, the Lord took me on a journey that couldn’t make things any more clear as to what is about to happen. I know, really know, that Jesus is coming back and He’s coming back soon. I believe He’s coming back in my lifetime. If all the
